Charm Reading Basics

Charm Casting is a form of divination that uses charms, trinkets or small objects.

The charms are cast/thrown onto a casting surface, and where and how they land is then interpreted to receive intuitive messages.

Tips for Charm Casting:

1. Choose a charm set that you enjoy and that resonates. Your charms don't need to be expensive, fancy - they just need to work for you.  You can use items around your home in your charm casting set, visit a Dollar Store for items, thrift trinkets, etc. There are also pre made charm sets available on Etsy.

2. Set meanings for your charms. What do they mean to you? Write them down to help you remember.

3. Start small - the lesser amount of charms you begin with, the easier they’ll be to use. 10-20 charms is a good starting point.

4. You can cast your charms on to any surface, but consider buying a charm casting mat to help you categorize the meanings of your charms.

5. Notice charms that fall together when you cast them. For example, if a lock falls close to another charm, that might tell you what you have locked up, or what needs unlocking.

6. Trust yourself and the meanings you assign - that’s the best way to develop a close relationship with your divination tools.

7. If you can’t connect with the meaning for a charm, leave it out of your reading arsenal or do some research for potential meanings of the symbology.

Be Open To Change

Add, remove, use or don't use certain charms. Play around with your charm kit and don't feel limited by decisions. You can always change your charm kit!
